Ceylon: The Homeland of Your Tea
The base of «Bergamot Breeze» tea is black tea grown on the high-altitude plantations of Ceylon, modern-day Sri Lanka. This island in the Indian Ocean is renowned for its ideal climatic conditions for tea cultivation, allowing for harvests of exceptional quality.
Historical Fact: The tea industry in Ceylon began relatively late. In 1869, the island's coffee plantations were destroyed by the fungus Hemileia vastatrix. Scottish planter James Taylor, who had already experimented with tea, suggested that farmers switch to tea crops, which ultimately saved the island's economy and made Ceylon one of the world leaders in tea production.
