Origins of Spicy Aromas
Ginger, orange, and cardamom are ingredients whose history dates back to ancient times, spanning continents and civilizations. Ginger, native to Southeast Asia, was one of the first Eastern goods to reach Europe via the Great Silk Road. Cardamom, the "queen of spices," was valued in Ancient Egypt for its aromatic and medicinal properties, and its homeland is considered to be India and Sri Lanka.
Interesting fact: In Scandinavia, cardamom is one of the most popular spices, actively used in baking, which is surprising given its tropical origin.
