Milk Oolong Tea 'Golden Lily' (Jin Xuan) is a true treasure, selected by Teemaailm experts for Estonia's tea community, revealing the full depth of its unique character with each infusion. The dry tea leaves are tightly rolled emerald granules that, even dry, emit a delicate creamy-caramel aroma with light floral notes. This is a foretaste of the multifaceted bouquet that awaits you.

When brewed, the infusion acquires an astonishing golden-green hue, pure and transparent, like morning dew playing in the sun. The aroma unfolds in all its glory: dominant notes of baked milk and creamy caramel harmoniously intertwine with nuances of orchid, vanilla, and fresh greenery. This is not just tea; it's an aromatic symphony that caresses the senses and transports you to a world of serenity.

'Golden Lily's' taste is exceptionally soft, enveloping, with a pronounced sweetness and characteristic milky creaminess that is not cloying, but rather delicate and natural. The absence of astringency and bitterness makes every sip incredibly pleasant. The aftertaste is long, velvety, leaving a gentle sweetness and a light floral trail on the tongue that lingers long after the tea is consumed. This oolong boasts remarkable resistance to multiple infusions, revealing new facets of flavor and aroma with each subsequent brewing. The oily infusion coats the palate, providing a feeling of complete satisfaction and harmony.

The high-mountain plantations of Taiwan, where this amazing oolong is born, are shrouded in mists, creating ideal conditions for the slow growth of tea bushes. Mineral-rich soil and a special climate give the leaves a unique composition, forming that very delicate milky aroma. Here, on the slopes, tea masters pass down processing secrets from generation to generation, transforming each leaf into a work of art. Legend has it that milk oolong acquired its astonishing aroma thanks to mountain spirits who washed the tea bushes with milk at night.

How to brew Milk Oolong using the Gong Fu Cha method

  • 🍵 Teaware: Use a gaiwan or a small porous clay teapot with a volume of 100-150 ml.
  • 🌡️ Water temperature: 90-95°C. It's important not to use boiling water to avoid damaging the delicate taste.
  • 🍃 Amount of tea leaves: 5-7 grams per 100-150 ml of water.
  • ⏱️ First infusion (awakening): Pour water over the leaves and immediately discard. This cleanses the tea and "awakens" its aroma.
  • Subsequent infusions: Start with 15-20 seconds, gradually increasing the time of each subsequent infusion by 5-10 seconds. Milk Oolong can withstand up to 7-10 infusions, revealing new facets of flavor.
