Shu Puer Lao is the embodiment of craftsmanship and time, offering a deep and multifaceted taste experience. The aroma of the dry cake reveals notes of old wood, damp earth, and subtle nutty undertones, foreshadowing the richness of future infusions. After the first rinse, or “awakening infusion,” the tea leaves exude a more intense, sweet-woody bouquet.

The infusion of this aged puer is characterized by a rich, almost black color with a ruby hue, indicative of its maturity. The taste is dense, enveloping, with the earthiness characteristic of Shu puer, which here is softened and complemented by sweet nuances of prunes, dried fruits, and a light balsamic note. It is wonderfully smooth and oily on the tongue, leaving a pleasant sensation of warmth and comfort.

Shu Puer Lao: The Art of Aftertaste

The aftertaste is long-lasting, velvety, with gradually unfolding sweet and woody accents. It brings tranquility and deep relaxation, immersing one in a meditative tea state. With each new infusion, the taste can evolve, revealing new facets: from more pronounced sweetness to a slight piquancy characteristic of mature puers.

This exceptional Shu Puer Lao variety has been carefully selected by Teemaailm experts to offer the Estonian tea community an authentic work of tea art. It is ideal for those who appreciate depth, complexity, and sophistication in every cup, promising an unforgettable journey into the world of ancient tea traditions.

Deep in the heart of Yunnan, a province where tea trees reach centuries of age, Shu Puer Lao is born. Here, amidst majestic mountains and mist-shrouded valleys, the humid subtropical climate and mineral-rich soils create ideal conditions for the growth of unique tea bushes. Legend has it that it was in these lands that the medicinal properties of tea were first discovered, and ancient caravans forged the famous Tea Horse Road through these lands, distributing puer worldwide for centuries. Every sip of this tea is a journey into a thousand-year history, to the origins of tea culture, where time and nature create true masterpieces.
