Discover the harmony of taste with elite Da Hong Pao Oolong Tea

Immerse yourself in the profound taste of the legendary Da Hong Pao Oolong Tea, carefully selected by Teemaailm experts specifically for connoisseurs of Estonian tea culture. This rock oolong from the famous Wuyishan mountains reveals a rich and complex bouquet that will captivate even the most sophisticated gourmet.

The aroma of the dry leaf is striking in its depth: notes of dark chocolate, dried fruits, and a light roast intertwine here, foreshadowing an unforgettable tea ceremony. After the first contact with hot water, a brighter, sweeter aroma with hints of caramel and vanilla unfolds. The brewed infusion has a deep amber color, transitioning to reddish-brown, which indicates the high quality of fermentation and leaf processing.

Organoleptics: a rock melody in taste

The taste of Da Hong Pao is a true “rock melody,” unique to Wuyi oolongs. It is multifaceted: the first brew reveals a slight astringency, giving way to fruity notes of peach and apricot, as well as hints of nuts and wood. Subsequent brews unveil new facets: a pleasant sweetness emerges, a light minerality, and the characteristic “yinyun” – a long, enveloping aftertaste with notes of honey and flowers, which lingers on the palate long after the last sip. The infusion has an oily texture, which gives it a special softness and velvety feel. Each cup is a journey through the taste landscapes of Wuyishan, where each brew opens new horizons of enjoyment.

Lost in the mists of the Wuyishan mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage site, lies the homeland of the legendary Da Hong Pao. Here, amidst sheer cliffs and turbulent rivers, on unique mineral-rich soils, with an ideal combination of humidity and sunlight, grows a tea that has absorbed all the power and mysticism of ancient nature. Thick fogs enveloping the peaks create a perfect microclimate, promoting the slow growth of tea bushes and the accumulation of unique substances in the leaves. One legend says that the emperor himself bestowed his red robe upon four bushes on a sheer cliff for saving his mother from illness, hence the name – “Big Red Robe.”
