Shu Pu-erh Tea – Taste and Aroma

Upon first encounter, the rich, almost blackish-red infusion of Shu Pu-erh tea catches the eye, reminiscent of an old wine. The aroma bouquet is deep and diverse, revealing notes of wet forest soil, old woody tones, and a subtle sweetness reminiscent of dried fruits and chocolate. Some experienced tea gourmands may also detect hints of camphor and leather, which lend the tea a mysterious and mature character.

In taste, Imperatori Shu Pu-erh is exceptionally soft and rounded, completely without any bitterness. The infusion is oily and silky in the mouth, coating the tongue with a pleasant warmth. Woody and earthy tones emerge first, then develop into a sweeter profile, offering nuances of vanilla, caramel, and dark chocolate. The aftertaste is long and soothing, leaving a pleasant sweetness and a slight minerality in the mouth, inviting another sip. With each tasting, the tea reveals new facets, offering continuous joy of discovery.

The depth and complexity of this pu-erh make it an ideal choice for both daily enjoyment and special moments. It is a tea that evolves and matures over time, offering new discoveries with every brewing. Teemaailm experts have carefully selected this variety for the Estonian tea community, ensuring the best quality and an authentic experience.

Deep in the Yunnan highlands of China, where clouds touch the peaks and ancient forests hide centuries-old tea trees, Shu Pu-erh tea is born. The landscape here is characterized by steep valleys, dense rainforests, and mineral-rich soil. The thick morning mist provides moisture and shade to the tea bushes, shaping a unique flavor profile for the leaves.

Legend has it that this is where the famous Tea Horse Road (Cha Ma Gu Dao) began, along which tea caravans traveled. This is a place where time and nature have created something truly extraordinary.
